Hug Practice

This is an invitation to pause.

When you wear this shirt, you are saying something.
And like anything sacred, it is worth being intentional.

Here’s what it means to offer or receive a hug with presence.

Ask with care

“Would you like a hug?”
“Can I offer you a hug?”
“Do you want a hug right now?”

Not all hugs are welcome. Not all hugs are healing.
Asking is an act of love, even when the answer is no.

Accept any answer

A no is not rejection.
It is an expression of trust and self-awareness.
Honor it. Thank them. Stay open.

This shirt is not about getting hugs.
It is about making it safe to ask.

Offer presence, not pressure

A safe hug does not demand anything.
It does not try to fix or rescue.
It simply says,

I am here with you. You are not alone.

Be mindful of context

Is the space quiet?
Does the other person feel grounded?
Do they have the safety and agency to say no?

Safety is not just about consent. It is about clarity and care.

You can always say no

Even if you are wearing the shirt.
Even if someone asks gently.
Even if you said yes before.

No is sacred.
So is yours.

This is a practice.
Not a performance.
Not perfection.

Let it evolve.
Let it breathe.
Return to it as often as you need.
